WELCOME to Ashtead Pet Boarding & Guinea Pig Rescue

We are fully booked now until October 2026

🐹 An Update & Thank You from Ashtead Pet Boarding 🐰

After more than 20 wonderful years, I will be retiring from the pet boarding business on 1st January 2027. 🥂✨

It has been a privilege and pleasure to care for your pets over the last two decades. Thank you so much to all you fantastic families for your trust, loyalty, and support—I will greatly miss seeing both you and your little companions. ❤️

What’s Next? 🐹

While boarding is coming to an end, my commitment to animal welfare continues. Ashtead Guinea Pig Rescue will remain open and active, and I look forward to focusing my time there.

Thank you all for over 20 unforgettable years.

Best wishes,

Carolyn

🐹 The Key to a Happy, Healthy Guinea Pig? 🐹🐹GOOD HAY! 🐹🌿

(see below for a discount code!)

Did you know that 80% of a guinea pig’s diet should be high-quality hay? It’s essential for:
✅ Healthy Teeth – Hay helps wear down their ever-growing teeth naturally.
✅ Good Digestion – The fibre keeps their gut working smoothly.
✅ Mental Stimulation – Foraging and chewing prevent boredom!

💡 What to look for in good hay:
✔️ Fresh & fragrant 🌾
✔️ Green, not brown 🍃
✔️ Free from dust & mould 🚫
✔️ Not packed in plastic 🚫

At Ashtead Pet Boarding & Guinea Pig Rescue we use top quality hay delivered in manageable boxes directly to our door from HayDayhq. Our mainstay is Moreish Meadow which is a wonderful blend of mixed grasses – excellent for bedding, burrowing, sleeping, playing and of course, eating! We also use soft Timothy hay on a daily basis. And to add enrichment we regularly sample different types of hay, dried forage and dried grass. The guineas adore their hay and enrichment!

We live and work in a lovely residential area.

Please be respectful of our neighbours and keep their driveways clear!

Thank you

Please note we are an independent, home-based, self-funded Rescue. We are not supported by any other local Rescue but we do work closely with other like-minded Rescues in the area.

We rely on donations to support our work in the Rescue and are so grateful for any goodies from our Amazon wish list or financial contributions 🙂 Please be aware that we do not receive any donations via any other person or any other Rescue. Don’t be scammed! If in doubt contact me directly!

New from 2024 – we will be closed every Wednesday but will be open on most Bank Holidays

We recommend a website called Guinea Piggles which is an amazing site, with tons of information about Guinea Pig care. It’s really well written, easy to understand and unbiased. There are beautiful printable sheets on diet, care and forage.
