19.10.24  Breeze Update 🐹

I am delighted to show you how well this energetic young man’s face is healing 😀 He is also two weeks post-op following his little snip ✂️and is a healthy, lively two year old. He will be going to a wonderful foster home next week to continue his recovery and will be available for adoption in November! Breeze will be looking for his furever home with one or more sows in an indoor environment. Homecheck & donation towards the cost of his Vet bills apply. Please contact me if you are interested.

1/10 These three lovely piggies came to me yesterday (neutered boar and 2 sows) and I have now been asked to take 8 more from the same residence. They are all entire males under the age of 2 living together in cramped conditions 😱. They need to be removed from the situation ASAP and split into compatible pairs or singles. As far as I am aware they are not accustomed to being handled so will need time & patience

2/10 Four of the 8 boars arrived today. I think we have River, Breeze, Snow & Frost (they didn’t have names on arrival). My thanks to Sam R for going out of her way to fetch them. At the moment I have them all together and they are quite skittish but we will see how they settle in overnight. I’m intending to observe how they get along with each other over the next few days and then divi them up into compatable pairs or singles. The four that have arrived today are all covered in bite marks and looking quite scraggy except one! So I think we know who has been dishing out a lot of the bites! The next group of 4 will arrive on Monday. And we already have 9 piggies in the Rescue looking for new homes.

I already have Vet appts booked firstly for Breeze who has very nasty bites, blood and swelling to his face and mouth due to fighting. Your support is invaluable – PayPal ctear@hotmail.com. or Moreish Meadow Hay from www.haydayhq.co.uk or food etc from our Amazon Wishlist https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/dl/invite/2T2Yxza?ref_=wl_share

7/10 Three More Boars are here!

Today Frost, Storm and Ash joined us. I’m not sure what happened to Forest 😟 but he wasn’t there when Sam arrived to collect them today. I think we may have some skin issues with these three and the expected bite marks, scars etc. On a first quick examination, they don’t appear to have any serious wounds. As we did for the previous four, I am going to start with them all together for a few days under observation – they have a whole outbuilding floor to themselves with hideys, tunnels, piles of hay etc etc. Once I have an idea of the dynamics I will know whether they all require individual space or whether there could be a pair. I will keep you posted! All the boys will be available for adoption after quarantine and assessment plus we have other piggies who are in the Rescue and are looking for new forever homes. Please see the website www.ashteadpetboarding.co.uk for more information. Adoption is by application only. There is an adoption fee and a home check will be required. Thank you for all the support! Carolyn

Great news for the cutest little trio of Mr Cloud, Miss Polo and Anna who went to their super new home over the weekend! The rather gorgeous Breeze saw Kriek & Gibson Vets last week and was neutered. He had a couple of stitches in the deep cut on his upper lip and is looking & behaving like a new man! My thanks again for all the donations, foster carers and help.

New from 2024 – we will be closed every Wednesday but will be open on most Bank Holidays

We live and work in a lovely residential area.

Please be respectful of our neighbours and keep their driveways clear!

Thank you
