Carolyn looked after my guinea pigs over Easter. Unfortunatey, during that time they both became quite ill and she was amazing- she noticed immediately that they weren’t their normal selves, took them to the vet, got meds for them, gave them their meds, gave them baths, cared for them beautifully and let me know what was going on without bombarding me with too much information or causing me worry whilst I was away. She really went over and above, as ever. Can’t ask for more – Juliette

Another happy staycation at Carolyn’s for my Guinea pigs Aurora and Wiggy Piggy. They were hosted in a large, clean cage, with time on the grass, and fed according to their habits and preferences. Home from home. Carolyn looked after our recently bereaved piggy while we went on holiday. Her attention to detail was so reassuring (eg our piggy’s preferences and where she might be most comfortable socially for her accommodation) and was also willing to clean daily an ulcer that our pig had developed before her visit. We were able to be in touch by whatsapp for an update while we were away which was great. We could also relax in the knowledge that her accommodation had air conditioning if necessary and she could have turns outside on the grass. My 2 guinea pigs Poppy and Daisy came to stay over half term- they have stayed regularly since they were tiny. As ever, Carolyn looked after them brilliantly, they were very happy and healthy when I came to pick them up, a little disappointed that they had to leave all their other guinea pig friends.  Carolyn always looks after them so carefully and is full of advice when I come to collect them. I adopted a Guinea pig from this rescue and more recently my guineas boarded there with Carolyn for a few days. The facility was clean, lovely clean hay smell, Guineas had appropriate space if not generous, they were offered a varied and healthy diet. Carolyn groomed one of my pigs who is long haired and cut their nails free of charge, and had them one additional day free of charge – just to say how much she ties this not just for money but also for love. I went there quite tense to leave my piggies with someone else, but left with total peace of mind. She also gave me great tips on nutrition as one of mine is rather round. I 100% recommend her and my only disappointment is that she can’t board my cats too 🙂 – Chiara Jan 23

First time boarding my pair of girls (guinea pigs) and I have to say Carolyn was fantastic. They were originally booked in for ten days, however, due to a family crisis situation that arose, Carolyn looked after them for me for a total of three weeks. Not only did she help me out, but the quality of their care was exceptional, meeting their needs in every way and providing updates. Carolyn looked after my 2 guinea pigs for nearly a month. Carolyn sent me regular updates and even trimmed my long haired piggy’s hair to keep her clean. The holiday care our pets (hamster and gerbils) have received at Ashtead Pet Boarding has been excellent. Carolyn is very knowledgeable and genuinely cares about the animals she looks after. She goes above and beyond to make sure they are well cared for. For example, one of our gerbils was depressed after his friend died just before we went away and Carolyn put in a lot of time and effort to make sure he was OK. “We took our beautiful piggies to Carolyn to be rehomed as sadly we couldn’t keep them. Carolyn contacted me through an advert as she noticed we were giving them away and advised us of the dangers of doing this (they could be used to feed snakes!) – she offered to rehome our piggies or keep them if need be. She was kind and very understanding. We could not believe how wonderful the accommodation was for all her animals and we could tell that she would really care for them. Everything was so clean and Carolyn sent pictures showing us how happy they were and made sure they were eating what they liked and had what they needed. They were rehomed really quickly to keep a single piggie company but only after a trial period. Our two young guinea pigs went to stay at Ashtead Pet Boarding over the summer- it was like taking them to a five-star hotel! They had comfortable, clean hutches in purpose built indoor housing, with outdoor runs in the garden. Ashtead Pet Boarding is an extremely well-run boarding facility, and Caz is so knowledgeable about the care of these animals. I would have no hesitation in recommending wholeheartedly. On our initial visit she greeted us warmly, was very welcoming and spent as long as necessary answering our questions and explaining the rabbits routine and environment.
